We are open 8.30am until 6pm Monday to Friday and 9am until 4pm Sat-Sun and Public Holidays.
After Hours Arrival
Your room keys will be stored in our Key Safe located in the public area opposite reception. We notify all of our guests *or* their agents about how to obtain a room key out of office hours. The operation of the Key Safe is simplicity itself but it does require the entry of a PIN code.
Email or telephone us if you require a Late Arrival PIN Code and have not already received one.
Port Douglas is a scenic one hour drive north from Cairns. Cairns’ airport services domestic as well as international flights. Hire cars are available at the airport. Coach transfers are also available but these should be booked in advance. If you are booking direct with us online there is an option to book the transfers on the room booking page. You may also phone or email us to arrange transfers. There is no public transport available.
Port Douglas village is a small town and is mostly flat. Walking everywhere is a good option, as is hiring bycycles. If you have hired a car then that will obviously give you greater freedom. There is a local bus service that will run you into town and back. The bus or a taxi is recommended if you are doing grocery shopping, but you can also borrow our shopping trolleys. 😉
Walking to the main street takes about 10 minutes. Walking to the beach or the marina also only takes about 10 minutes. If you arrive by coach and then decide you want to hire a car or a bike that’s OK – we have a few hire car companies in town (10 to 15 minutes walk).
We have beach towels for hire, complimentary children’s beach toys, and complimentary rain umbrellas.
We have free Wi-Fi (see reception upon arrival) in your room or by the pools.
We have a tour booking desk – you can discuss tour options, get recommendations, check the weather etc. at reception and then book your tours at no extra cost. We recommend you do NOT book reef tours until you arrive and see which days are likely to have the best weather.
To confirm your booking a deposit equivalent to 1 nights accommodation is required, with full payment to be received no later than 14 days prior to arrival.
At all times we, Bay Villas Resort, will endeavor to accept all bookings that are made through our website, however we reserve the right to cancel/reject a booking at any time.
You will be notified by us of any changes/amendments to the booking and refunds due and we will always try to give you an alternative option.
We realize that plans can change and that unforeseen circumstances can occur. We highly recommend travel insurance.
All bookings are subject to the following cancellation policy -:
Cancellations must be received in writing by email or fax, to Bay Villas Resort Port Douglas. Cancellations will not be deemed to be received until you have written confirmation from Bay Villas Resort Port Douglas. If you have not received acknowledgement within two days, please contact us at the resort on (07) 4084 2992.
Deposit will be refunded in full on all cancellations received 21 days or more prior to the arrival date.
We reserve the right to refund the deposit in full less a $50 administration fee on cancellations received 14 to 20 days to the arrival date. The administration fee covers the cost of processing the booking, receipting the booking and banking the money, cancelling the booking from the system, processing refund via electronic medium and meeting bank charges.
Cancellations received between 7 to 13 days prior to the arrival date will forfeit the full deposit paid, being the equivalent of the first nights fee.
Cancellations received 6 days or less to the arrival date, or amendments to the booking, or failure to arrive at the hotel, a cancellation fee of the full amount of the booking will be charged (i.e: if booked for 5 nights then 5 nights’ accommodation will be charged). There is no refund for early departures and a full accommodation cost will be incurred. This policy is applied to cover the distinct possibility of our inability to re-let the room at that late a stage. Should the room be re-let a refund of the booking difference will be applied.
Travel insurance is highly recommended.
There are NO REFUNDS FOR EARLY DEPARTURE.
*Fees may be credited to a future re-booking of similar duration at Port Douglas Bay Villas Resort, less a re-booking charge of $50 and subject to room availability, for travel dates up to 12 months from the original cancelled booking.
